The World Cup Is Eating the Creator Economy. We Have the Numbers.
Jul 14, 2026 · ShinyPull Team
We track 41,413 creators every single day. Most months, the leaderboards move the way you'd expect. MrBeast gains. Streamers churn. Somebody has a viral week. Then a World Cup shows up, and the entire creator economy bends around it. Here is what that actually looks like in the numbers.
The 30-day view race has a weird podium
Pull the fastest growing YouTube channels by views over the last 30 days and the top three tells the whole story.
Third place is not a creator. It is FIFA. The channel that posts match highlights and press conferences added 2.67 billion views in a month, which puts it ahead of every gaming channel, every music label except one, and every vlogger not named Jimmy.
For scale, that is roughly 89 million views a day. A mid-sized country of eyeballs, every day, watching a sports federation's upload queue.
TikTok belongs to the players now
The follower leaderboard on TikTok tells the same story from a different angle. The three fastest growing accounts of the last 30 days are all World Cup accounts, whether they admit it or not.
Neymar adding 5.8 million followers in a month is the single biggest follower gain we measured on any platform in that window. Not a dance trend. Not a drama arc. A 34 year old playing in what is probably his last World Cup.
And Shakira has not released an album this summer. She gained 4 million followers largely on the strength of tournament nostalgia. Waka Waka is 16 years old and it is still doing numbers.
Twitch found its counterprogramming
Twitch cannot show the matches. So what wins Twitch during a World Cup month? Charity speedruns, apparently.
Summer Games Done Quick pulled 5 million hours watched in a month, more than five times its nearest competition. While the rest of the sports world watched football, a chunk of the internet watched someone beat Ocarina of Time blindfolded for charity. There is something genuinely nice about that.
Five days left
Whoever plays in that final, expect one more wave. Finals produce the biggest single-day follower swings of any scheduled event we have measured this year. If the final goes to penalties, double it.
The half-year scoreboard
The tournament is the headline, but it lands on top of six months of data we have been quietly stacking since January. This is what the machine has collected so far.
A few things in there still surprise us. MrBeast adding 35 million subscribers in three and a half months is a full PewDiePie era of growth compressed into a quarter. And the gap between platform number ones is wild: the top YouTube channel is 24 times bigger than the top Twitch channel, which is itself 9 times bigger than the top Bluesky account.
What to watch after the final
The interesting question is not who wins the World Cup. It is what happens to all this attention on July 20.
Player accounts historically keep most of their tournament gains. Federation accounts give a chunk back. And the platforms themselves move on within a week. We will be watching the comedown in the same daily snapshots, and if the pattern breaks, you will read about it here.
Until then, the live rankings update every day, and Trending is where the next spike shows up first.
